Much to J’s delight, we made a swing for him in one of the trees yesterday.

This morning after he got dressed I could not find him, till I looked outside and this is what I saw. Aaaw a real “heart melting” moment, my boy just loves his swing

On Tuesday J and I started off on our photo walk as he said he wanted to add some more photos to his blog.
We stopped to take some shots of a cormorant that was at the edge of the dam.
There is a stream that runs along the side of No 2 fairway. The water is directly from the mountain and is always icy cold. He was wearing his wellies so I didn’t mind him standing in the stream and feeling how cold the water was through his boots.
Of course the temptation was just too great and he wanted to walk in the stream.
This proved to be so much fun that ……. mmm I think that perhaps this would be a good time for me to stop typing and just let the photographs speak for themselves, because in all honesty I have no words. I do need to point out that we are currently slap bang in the middle of an ice cold winter and as I mentioned earlier, this water comes directly from the mountain and is ice cold.
I had so much fun taking these photographs, there is no doubt in my mind that these are my weekly winners. Go and have a look at Lotus page for more winners.
Now that J has his own blog, he is super keen to get out every day and take photos. Here are some shots that I took while walking around with him. I totally followed his lead and only took photos where he said I was allowed to. It was quite a challenge, he said we were having a competition to see who could take the nicest photo! I didn’t realise I had such a competitive little man
Here he is taking a photo of the view over the dam
My little man playing at being “Superman”
You can see the reciprocal photograph on his blog
I was instructed to take a photograph of an aloe
I was also instructed to take a photograph of the water. Have a look at his blog to see a photo he took of me in all my glory with my fat behind up in the air!
The water photograph was rather boring so I spiced it up a bit with a texture
I have password protected his blog, just to protect him from the weirdos that are out in the cyber world. If I haven’t already mailed you the password let me know and I will send it to you
I heard a “noise” yesterday and went outside to investigate. As I got around the corner I found my son “driving” a golf car that has been broken and standing in pieces for quite some time now. I quickly went back inside to get my camera and got these shots. He was so caught up in his own world he didn’t even notice I was there.

I love this kid so much – he is a wonderful gift and I adore him to the ends of the earth and back again
I think that these just have to be my Weekly Winners. Be sure to go to Lotus & check out the other winners photos.
My son has always seen frost on TV or out the car window, but he has never had a chance to play in it and feel it. Yesterday morning there was the first frost here in Badplaas. He was terribly excited when I showed him and asked if he could go and feel it. I don’t think he realised just HOW cold it would be when I told him it is very cold.
I struggled to decide which photos to show you as they each tell a different side of what he experienced, so here are many photos.
The realisation dawns that this is actually VERY cold
But the urge to feel it cannot be resisted
Trying to warm up in a patch of sun
Making footprints in the frost
This was Garfield’s first experience of frost too – he didn’t seem to mind at all
Ice Crystals perfectly formed on a piece of wood
Ice on his shoes from running around
Teasing me that he would lie down and roll down the hill
a hre
He eventually settled for running down the hill
Michelle emailed me last week and asked me to take photos at her son’s birthday party on Wednesday. The party was held at Forest Fun in Tierpoort on the outskirts of Pretoria. It is a wonderful venue with plenty space for the kids to run and play. They had a jumping castle, pony rides, a ride on a tractor trailor, and were able to ride motor bikes on a paved path through a forest area. The highlight of the day was definitely the Go Carts that Michelle hired, the boys were in heaven.
Michelle here are a few photos from your son’s special day. Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of it. I will be in touch with you soon regarding delivery of your dvd.
The weather here in Badplaas has been so fantastic, we’ve really been very lucky. The other day we decided to sit outside while having our lunch. I could not help smiling and feeling all warm and fuzzy watching my son and his cat. There is this quiet contentment that has come over them both. Living on a golf course is in such stark contrast to living in our little townhouse, surrounded by burglar bars, security gates and teeny tiny gardens. I love watching them romp and play and just totally enjoy being alive.
When I was in Badplaas over Easter Weekend @charnig was there with her little girl. I managed to get a few shots of Storm picking some wild flowers
“Sugar and Spice and all things nice” – what one would typically say when talking about girls, right? mmm perhaps not when there is a boy around. My son and Storm get on extremely well as you will see in the next set of photographs. He taught her a few “boy tricks”
It would appear he is a good teacher as she got on quite well on her own after the initial round of instruction
@pinkhairgirl will be leaving for Cape Town to live with @majorproblem early hours of Tuesday morning. We had a braai at her house on Saturday afternoon so that we could say goodbye to her. @laurakim123 was there and @flavid arrived after his course. @rorieg surprised me and decided to come through from Badplaas for the weekend – which of course just made me the happiest girl in town.
Here is the lovely Sally laughing and having fun
Yme – clearly very nervous about me pointing my camera in his direction

There was no way Yme was going to put that beer down while braai-ing

We all had a really lovely time. Thanks so much Sally. Yme it was awesome to see you again. We wish you well as you begin your adventure together in Cape Town.
