Badplaas Sunsets

July 11, 2010Here in Badplaas we lose the sun fairly early in winter, although it only gets dark about and hour and a half later. This is because it disappears behind the mountain that is really close to us. I’m always quite sad because the chance of taking any great sunset shots or warm silhouettes is near impossible. Last night I looked outside the bedroom window and noticed the sun shining through the tree. I decided to try and get some “sunset” shots and this is what I came up with.

May 19, 2010On Saturday evening I noticed this sky from the stoep of my little townhouse. I ran inside to get my camera and took this shot.
A Hint of Things to Come
So I grabbed car keys and kid and we raced off to the bottom part of the estate that hasn’t been developed yet to see the sunset. You will see that I was not disappointed. It was spectacular in so many ways.
These shots are not edited at all except for resizing to fit on the web and adding my copyright. Aside from that they are SOOC – the colours were genuinely THAT amazing!!
